About Course

What is Hypermesh?

HyperMesh is a high-performance finite element pre-processor software developed by Altair Engineering. It is widely used in the field of computer-aided engineering (CAE) for meshing and preprocessing tasks related to finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). HyperMesh is part of the Altair HyperWorks suite, a comprehensive set of CAE tools used for simulation, analysis, and optimization.

  • Geometry Cleanup and Editing: HyperMesh allows users to import and clean up CAD geometry. It provides tools for repairing and simplifying complex geometries to prepare them for meshing.
  • Mesh Generation: The software facilitates the generation of finite element meshes for structural, thermal, and fluid analysis. It supports various meshing techniques, including tetrahedral, hexahedral, and shell meshing.
  • Geometry and Mesh Associativity: HyperMesh maintains associativity between the geometry and mesh, allowing users to update the mesh automatically when changes are made to the underlying geometry.
  • Automated Meshing: The software includes automated meshing tools for quick and efficient generation of finite element meshes. This is particularly useful for large and complex models.
  • Mesh Editing and Refinement: Users can manually edit and refine meshes to achieve desired quality and accuracy. This includes tools for local mesh refinement and smoothing.
